Wednesday, September 24th, AIA San Francisco hosts a food and design tour of the Polk Street corridor, with visits to Belcampo and St Frank Coffee, as part of the annual Architecture and the City festival.

The tour will begin at Belcampo’s Polk and Pacific location, where participants can learn more about how BCV Architects designed the space to accommodate both a butcher shop and 34-seat restaurant, as well as Belcampo’s commitment to providing delicious, organic, and humane meat you can feel good about buying and eating.

The tour will then head to St. Frank Coffee on Polk, recipient of a 2014 AIASF Design Award for Interior Architecture. Designed by OpenScope Studio and Amanda Loper, St. Franks’s design utilizes a simple yet rich material palette that accentuates the abundance of natural light in the narrow retail space. The shop is focused on relationally-sourced coffee from small-scale growers, designed around providing a unique, customer- and coffee-focused experience.
