BCV’s current project at Cakebread Cellars was recently named a 2014 “Top Project” by the North Bay Business Journal. The renovation decreases Cakebread’s environmental footprint and enhances the visitor experience through site and system improvements like the use of micro-turbines, permeable pavers – part of a “Green Parking” system – and the implementation of photovoltaics.
In his comments, Business Journal Reporter Gary Quackenbush called the Cakebread Cellars infrastructure modernization project “a model of sustainable development.” He also noted the strategic parking layout that will preserve several existing trees and the addition of new varieties of oak and olive trees and an almond orchard that will “contribute to Cakebread Cellars’ existing culinary program and serve as ‘islands of diversity’ on the property.”
BCV is serving as the principal architect for the project, with Don Brandenburger and Associates as a consulting design principal.
